This Boxer was sold new through Auto Becker in Dusseldorf, Germany, and later imported to the US by Dick Fritz’s Amerispec. After importation, it was acquired by a resident in Vermont. Over the years, the Boxer was serviced at Ferrari dealers and specialists in the New York area. In August 2001, the Boxer received a new clutch and timing belt from Gran Turismo in Holtsville, NY displaying only 14,852 Km’s on the clock. In March of 2011, it was serviced at Ferrari of Long Island, showing only 15,297 Km’s. The Boxer was then sold in 2013 to a Ferrari collector in San Antonio, Texas, who was impressed by its originality, low mileage, and condition. It then sold once more to another collector in the NY area, who proceeded with the restoration process.
Shortly after this NY collector’s acquisition, the car was sent to notable Ferrari restorer, Bob Smith Coachworks in Gainesville, Texas. Over $230,000 was spent on restoration and servicing leaving no stone unturned. Over the past few years this 512 BB was the subject of a complete cosmetic restoration with full bare metal repaint, comprehensive mechanical engine out service and mechanical system rebuild where needed. All items were addressed and rebuilt or replaced with new as needed.
Currently displaying only 16,400 km’s, this Boxer includes its original books and tools. It is in superb condition throughout and drives exceptionally well. Today, this 512 Berlinetta Boxer is ready to be enjoyed on the road or the show field.
